July 15, 2021 - The Canadian Federation of Medical Students (CFMS) is proud to announce the election of three new Board Members that now sit on the 2021-2022 Board of Directors, as elected by the membership at a Special General Meeting on July 11, 2021. The 2020-21 Board of Directors & the CFMS General Manager resigned immediately following the Spring General Meeting on April 18th, 2021, therefore the new members of the 2021-2022 Board of Directors will be commencing their terms immediately to last until the 2022 Annual General Meeting.

President: Santanna Hernandez, University of Calgary
Past-president & Board Chair: Will be filled at a later date
Vice-President Communications: Danielle Judd, University of Manitoba
Vice-President Finance: Edgar Akuffo-Addo, University of Toronto
Director of Education: Neha Malhotra, University of Toronto
Director of Global Health: Lunan Zhao, University of Toronto
Director of Government Affairs: Montana Hackett, Western University
Director of Student Affairs: Alex Lee, University of Ottawa
Atlantic Regional Director: Stephanie Roberts, Memorial University of Newfoundland
Quebec Regional Director: Will be filled at a later date
Ontario Regional Director:

Western Regional Director:

This was a historical election for the CFMS as all three elected candidates are Indigenous!
A quote from the newly elected CFMS President: “This historical election, where 3 Indigenous students were elected to the board, will allow us to create a foundation for change. We have had a trying year as an organization. As a team we will work towards creating a path forward that will allow us to represent all medical students in Canada.”

15 juillet 2021 - La Fédération des étudiant.e.s en médecine du Canada (FEMC) est fière d’annoncer l’élection de trois nouvelles membres du conseil exécutif 2021-2022 qui siègent désormais au conseil exécutif, tel qu’élues par les membres lors d’une Assemblée générale spéciale le 11 juillet 2021. Le conseil exécutif 2020-2021 et la directrice générale de la FEMC ont démissionné immédiatement après l’assemblée générale du printemps le 18 avril 2021. Par conséquent, les nouveaux membres du conseil exécutif 2021-2022 débutent leur mandat dès leur élection, jusqu’à l’assemblée générale annuelle 2022.

Il s’agissait d’une élection historique pour la FEMC puisque les trois candidates élues sont autochtones!
Une citation de la présidente nouvellement élue: “Cette élection historique, où 3 étudiantes autochtones étaient au conseil, nous permettra de créer une fondation afin de changer pour le mieux. Nous avons eu une année éprouvante en tant qu’organisation. En équipe, nous travaillerons à créer une trajectoire qui nous permettra de représenter tous/toutes les étudiant.e.s en médecine au Canada.”
