About the CFMS
The CFMS is an organization representing over 8,000 medical students from 15 Canadian medical student societies from coast to coast. We represent medical students to the public, to the federal government, and to national and international medical organizations.To the membership of the CMFS,
With careful thought and reflection, I’ve made the difficult decision to step down as Ontario Regional Director, effective July 11th, 2021 at the upcoming Special General Meeting and by-election. My time as Regional Director and Interim President has been extremely valuable to me, and I’ve appreciated the connections I have made and the work I have been a part of in my time. This decision was made as I have come to appreciate that the time I have to give to the CFMS board does not quite match up with the time I want to give, and so I will make space for someone else.
I’ll emphasize that this is a very personal decision, and doesn’t reflect on the CFMS and its current leadership. The CFMS has started taking steps towards essential change that I strongly believe in; our new leadership has so many fantastic folks who are passionately committed to building a better space for medical learners in Canada and I’m proud to have been part of the start of that. I am looking forward to welcoming new members into the board at the upcoming special election, and I will remain committed to helping the CMFS and all medical learners as much as possible going forward.
