Mission Statement

The CFMS-IHP seeks to empower Canadian medical students to act at a local, national, and international level towards positive global change, a healthier humanity, and international cooperation. Our organization believes that social justice and respect for human rights are integral to social, cultural, physical and mental well being. The CFMS-IHP shall provide the following:

Services:

• Raise awareness amongst medical student on issues of international health
• Provide medical students with meaningful overseas opportunities
• Facilitate the development and continued improvement of grassroots initiatives
• Help medical students interested in international health network at a national and international level

Communication:

• Facilitate the dissemination of information regarding international health opportunities to all Canadian medical students via email, web access and hard copy publications
• Facilitate, initiate and contribute to national discussions on international health issues

Representation:

• Represent Canadian medical students to the IFMSA and all of the IFMSA standing committees
• Attend meetings/conferences of related National organizations with the purpose of seeking and sharing mutual resources
• Attend sub-national/local activities with the purpose of marketing our program and sharing ideas
• Develop and maintain partnerships with local, national and international organizations with the purpose of seeking and sharing mutual resources, ideas and opportunities
