REGISTER FOR AGM 2009

Dear AGM Delegates,

The CFMS will be holding its Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Thunder Bay Ontario from September 25th-27th, 2009. The Northern Ontario School of Medicine will be hosting for the first time! The NOSM host committee has been hard at work to make arrangements for our meeting and accommodations at the Victoria Inn.
 
The AGM is a key meeting for the CFMS as it gathers all of its medical society members together to review the work of the past year and set a mandate for the coming one.  Together we will bring one another up to speed on key issues, get updated on the status of CFMS and school projects and initiatives, elect new executive officers, and have some fun. In preparation for this meeting, please note the following:
 
(1) Registration: We need to know who from your school will be attending the AGM. Online registration should be completed for each attendee and the link is above. All delegates and observers are kindly requested to register and pay fees before August 16, 2009.
 
(2) Travel: When booking travel, please be prepared to begin the meeting at 8h00 on Friday, September 25, 2009. We recommend arriving in Thunder Bay on Thursday evening, and conference registration includes hotel accommodations for the evening of Thursday September 24th. The meeting will conclude in the afternoon on Sunday September 27th. If you run for an Executive position, you are asked to be available to meet in person on Sunday afternoon. Please plan travel accordingly. Also be advised that school delegations will be responsible for their own ground transportation to the conference centre and shuttles are available.
 
(3) Business: Resolutions and new business items can be submitted to president@cfms.org. If you are interested in preparing a resolution, please contact Jonathan DellaVedova, CFMS President, as soon as possible for forms and guidance on preparing a resolution.
 
(4) Elections: We will be electing Executive Officer positions as well as select officer positions. Please stay tuned for the election call by the Past President. Although the agenda is not yet finalized, we expect that the elections will take place on Sunday morning. Again, if you are considering running for a position please arrange travel so that you are able to stay on Sunday afternoon should you be elected.
 
(5) Social: The NOSM Organizing Committee is arranging an exciting social program. Attempts to incorporate health & wellness and environmentally friendly practices into the meeting have also been made.
