Choice of Enhanced or Specialty Professional program
> Both plans offer a monthly benefit of up to $4,000 tax-free as a medical student, with benefits payable after a 90-day elimination period. You may choose from either the enhanced or Specialty Professional program.
> Enhanced Professional includes features that are unique to an individually owned contract of insurance: protection against total disability, partial and residual disability benefits, a recovery benefit and a survivor benefit at the time of death to your designated beneficiary. The plan also includes a cost of living feature (which helps protect you against inflation while disabled), the Future Income Option (up to $25,000 monthly benefit with no evidence of health to keep pace with rising income), a health care rider (to protect you if you become HIV or hepatitis B/C impaired).
> Specialty Professional includes all of the features of enhanced Professional, but offers you an Own Occupation Definition of Disability. With this feature you have the choice to work in a "new" occupation while totally disabled and may be eligible to continue collecting total benefits even if you are earning income from this new occupation.
