We are excited to announce the call for abstracts for the 2013 Canadian Conference on Medical Education (CCME) to be held in beautiful Quebec City.
Please note the new submission dates for CCME abstracts! This is a big change, we know. The earlier timeline will help us manage abstract reviews more efficiently, plan for space and room bookings, complete the final program, and respect our volunteers and staff who contribute to the building of the conference. We will monitor the flow of abstracts carefully with this new process and your feedback as always are welcomed.
The theme is “The Quest for Quality Improvement: Going for Gold through Medical Education” and excitement is rising as our keynote speakers and invited panelists are beginning to finalize. Sessions will be engaging, lively, and influential. What is most important, however, is your scholarship! We invite you to submit proposals for workshops, oral and poster presentations in the areas of admissions, undergraduate, postgraduate, continuing medical education, faculty development or any other topic relevant to medical education.
As in the past, these "other topics" are meant to be broad and inclusive (e.g. physician and medical student health and well-being, inter-professional education, clinical preceptor issues, patient safety, assessment, distributed medical education) and where possible will be clustered into the same oral or facilitated poster session.
By the way, submissions need not be related to the conference theme; those related and those not related will be considered equally. The primary goal is to give you an opportunity to share your scholarship with your peers.
We anticipate many established scholars will submit their work for peer review and are most grateful. We would, however, like to emphasize that students, residents, graduate trainees and early career researchers/medical educators are strongly encouraged to submit as well.
All submissions must be made online at www.proreg.ca/events/ccme/2013/abstract/. The deadline for submissions is July 3, 2012. You may edit any submission you have made on-line as long as the edit occurs no later than Tuesday, July 3, 2012.
Check out our webpage at www.mededconference.ca for updates and announcements. We look forward to working and learning with you in Quebec City next spring!
